Canterbury Scottish Cultural Festival 2012

Sunday 12th February

The Third Annual Scottish Cultural Festival will be held on Sunday, 12 February 2012, at Riccarton Bush, 16 Kahu Road, Riccarton, Between 9.30am and 4.00pm. Entry to the festival will be free. The programme will include competitive and display Highland Dancing, Scottish Country Dancing, solo piping, solo drumming and pipe band competitions, a pipe band display, traditional haggis ceremony, whisky tasting, prizes for the best dressed lassie and laddie in tartan wear, instrumental and choral items, Edwardians from Ferrymead, commercial tents, and much more.

    OPENING WEEKEND HUGE SUCCESS

    Taste Events ran a series of dinners from the 1st - 4th September, to launch Feast 2011. The Martin Bosley Dinner, Jonny Schwass Dinner, Hats off Gala Dinner and the Chef vs Critic Dinner were sold out events and a fantastic way to start the festival.

     

    CHEF VS CRITIC DINNER WINNERS!

    Congratulations to Nik Mavromatis from Med Foods whi won the best overall dish of the evening with his Asparagus, walnut and Goats Cheese Tortellini. Simo Abbari of Simos Deli wowed the crowd with his Sumac Dusted Akaroa Salmon taking out the most creative dish award. The critics team (Yvonne Lorkin, Kerry Tyack and Jane Bowron) came a close second with thier smoked pears and orange scented mascapone dessert.
